Doreen — The unseen work of keeping a city clean

Doreen's everyday work supports the recycling system, yet exposes her to dangerous conditions and economic insecurity. My photographs, published by VSO, follow her at home and with fellow waste pickers as their communities work toward safer conditions and fairer opportunities. These images ask viewers to see the people behind an often-overlooked service.
